On June 24, 2023, on the ships AIDAperla, AIDAprima and AIDAnova was introduced the new specialty restaurant Soulkitchen. The a-la-carte-priced venue has a 3-course menu with plant-based vegan dishes (including meat and seafood alternatives) and organic beverages (coffee, tea, fresh juices) as well as non-alcoholic wines and spirits. The boat has 18 decks, of which 15 are passenger-accessible and 9 with cabins.
AIDA Cruises announces winter 2024-2025 itineraries (380 departure dates)
Starting from June 1, 2017 (before the cruise ship's official christening cruise June 24, 2017) there were scheduled several introductory cruises. The 5-day Inaugural Cruise (themed "welcome cruise", June 1-6, 2017) was from Palma de Mallorca to Marseille, Barcelona, and Valencia. Prices started at EUR 550 per person (an inside cabin, AIDA PREMIUM rate with included Early Saver discount of EUR 50). AIDAperla itinerary program is based on 7-day Western Mediterranean round-trip cruises with call ports including Corsica, Civitavecchia-Rome, Livorno (Pisa-Florence) and Barcelona. The hull is designed to reduce friction and to minimize the fuel consumption. Emissions (nitrogen oxide, sulfur oxide, and soot particles) are minimized by the impressive 90 and 99%. All premiere voyages ("mini-cruises") were open for booking on February 1, 2018. In February 2018 was announced that AIDAnova will offer new ("premier cruise") itineraries scheduled prior to the maiden voyage on Dec 2nd. On February 21, 2017, was vessel's steel-cutting ceremony held at Meyer Werft shipyard (Papenburg Germany). With this special event officially started the vessel's construction works.

Perla was delivered on April 27 and christened in Palma de Mallorca on June 30 (during the 7-day Inaugural cruise June 24 – July 1) from Barcelona. The ship's launch (float-out ceremony) was at 7 pm on August 21, 2018. The vessel was floated out from MEYER WERFT's covered building (drydock 2) and was berthed at yard’s pier for outfitting. Due to construction issues, vessel's delivery was delayed and the inaugural cruise rescheduled for December 19 (originally planned for December 2). On September 21, 2017, Neptun shipyard (Rostock) completed vessel's 3-decks high first (out of 2) engine room block (length 120 m / 394 ft, width 42 m / 138 ft).
AIDA's LNG-powered liners
Like most large-sized newbuilds, the AIDA ship Nova is LNG-powered, with 4x Caterpillar Marine LNG engines (model MaK 16M-46DF) generating combined output 57,2 MW. The propulsion system is based on two Azimuting thrusters (combined power output 37 MW). The ship has 3x LNG tanks (cryogenic steel) with total capacity ~3200 m3. Two of the tanks are larger (length 35 m, diameter 8 m, LNG capacity 1525 m3), while the 3rd tank has length 28 m, diameter 5 m and capacity 520 m3. Thanks to the use of new technologies and the economical handling of resources, additional progress was made. In 2013, AIDA collaborated on LNG hybrid barges with Becker Marine Systems. The innovative and flexible solution is used on ships moored in Port Hamburg. Since May 30, 2015, AIDA's ships (starting with AIDAsol) have been regularly bunkered/supplied with LNG at Hamburg's Hafencity Terminal.
The "Inaugural Cruise" from Tenerife was scheduled for December 12, 2018. The roundtrip Canaries itinerary visits the ports Puerto del Rosario (Fuerteventura), Arrecife (Lanzarote), Las Palmas (Gran Canaria), and Funchal (Madeira Island). The Cube dance club and the Casino also offer night-time live entertainment. It features a dedicated for family activities area "Four Elements" (based on water, air, fire, and earth). The boat has 20 decks, of which 17 are passenger-accessible and 11 with cabins. Standard cabin balconies are equipped with padded deckchairs and coffee tables. Junior Suites are with separate "conservatory" (lounge room, sized 7 m2) plus step-out balcony (4 m2). The lounge room's glass door can be opened to double the balcony's size.

Besides the ship's staff and crew, AIDA cruise passengers are also served by Peper robots - the latest cyborg technology implemented fleetwide in 2016. They also assist them throughout the cruise by providing information and tips on onboard dining, entertainment, enrichment program (workshops, pre-scheduled events), casino and shopping promotions, shore excursions and tours. Pepper robots are mobile and communicate in 3 languages (English, German, Italian).
The technology is deemed the cleanest for shore-to-ship electrical power supply. AIDA's Sol ship is an energy-efficient vessel, with modern propulsion and engines significantly reducing CO2 emissions. Just like the sisterships, Sol was built around AIDA's "club resort" concept. The language spoken on board is German, as the majority of AIDA cruise ship passengers are Germans and German-speaking Europeans (from Austria and Switzerland). AIDAsol is the 5th liner in the Sphinx-class/series of AIDA Kreutzfahrten and fleet's 8th vesel. The Papenburg Shipyard used laser-hybrid advanced technology in assembling 54 steel blocks to form the vessel's body.
AIDAprima provides Easter 2025 voyages from Palma or Barcelona to Malaga, Cadiz and Cartagena, allowing passengers to witness the famous Semana Santa. AIDAbella and AIDAluna are homeported in La Romana Dominicana, Montego Bay Jamaica and Fort-de-France Martinique, and deployed on different routes to ports in the Caribbean, Central America, and Mexico. Following the deliveries of the "Japanese" ships AIDAprima (2016) and AIDAperla (2017), for the first time in its history, the company had booked 2+ million Germans. The AIDAprima ship's first successful test run for LNG supply was in Hamburg Germany on May 7, 2016. While berthed, the ship was successfully provided with LNG at all the itinerary's ports of call (Hamburg, Rotterdam, Le Havre, Southampton, Zeebrugge).
Departing from Hamburg, the world tour will take guests to four continents and 28 countries. The east and west coasts of the USA and Japan will be on the itinerary for the first time on an AIDA World Cruise. AIDA Cruises released new summer 2023 itineraries for its cruise ships AIDAdiva, AIDAmar, and AIDAnova. Beginning on August 3, 2022, the summer sailings can be booked with a variety of northern travel options.
